Compressed Air Drive
We use a compressed- air rotating piston motor for the drive of our Multiformer.
We would like to demonstrate you the advantages of this compressed- air motor and the differences to a electric motor.
Rotating Piston Motor- Construction and Function
A rotating piston motor is a motor which expandes gas and in which rotation is produced by movable fins.
It consists of a stator, an inner cylindric cage with an inlet and outlet and a rotator. Moreover it consits of a eccentrically arranged shaft with longitudinal slots in which the fins are sticked.
By this adjustment the spaces between the fins and the stator and rotator become smaller or bigger during a rotation according to the position of the rotator.
At the position where the space is the smallest lies the inlet. By rotation of the rotator the compressed air expandes and escapes through the outlet.
Most of the remaining air is tried to exhausted through further outlets.
Compact, light, powerful
The compressed- air motor is fundamentally lighter and smaller in comparison to the electric motor with equal power rating.
Thereby the rations in the installation space are 1:6 and in weight 1:4.
The compressed- air motor has a multiple higher power density.
Rotation speed is continuously adjustable
The rotation speed of a compressed- air motor is continuously adjustable by limiting the supply and outlet air.
We use an exhaust throttle in our Multiformer, therefor the effective torque is higher in the lower rotational- speed ranges.
Torque rises with the load
The compressed- air motor's output changes only slightly over a larger rotational- speed range.
If the rotation speed declines due to rising stress, increases the torque.
Resilient
Compressed- air motors could be overloaded until the idleness without any damages. They will not overheating, even by constant starts and stops.
No electric hazards
There are no electric supplies or component parts necessary, only the compressed- air drives the Multiformer and its control.
Any electric hazards can be eliminated.
Robust
Compressed- air motors are unsuceptible of heat and vibration.
Their reliability under extreme operation conditions is unique.
The construction and design guarantee a undisturbed operation with a low maintenance effort.
Operation conditions
Only clean and slightly lubricate compressed air should be used which has an optimal operation pressure of 6,3 - 7,0 bar at the tapping.
